Who are MotorEasy?

MotorEasy was launched in the mid-1990s by CEO Duncan McClure Fisher. The business offers a wide range of motoring products to drivers through its website, including car warranties for used-car customers, breakdown cover, repairs and servicing, and GAP insurance.

MotorEasy pride themselves as being different to the majority of car insurance providers. They describe their business as a management service for the entire lifecycle of your car: from showroom to sale.

What type of breakdown cover does MotorEasy offer?

MotorEasy breakdown cover comes with four main options, in terms of cover level. Customers can choose from:

Local Recovery: This includes recovery from 1 mile of your home to a garage within ten miles of the breakdown site.
Nationwide Recovery: MotorEasy Nationwide Recovery includes recovery from a mile of your home to any chosen destination within the UK.
Nationwide Recovery and Home Assist: This cover level will also provide breakdown assistance if your car won’t start at home.
Europewide Recovery: This is the most comprehensive level and covers you within Europe and for a week prior to a European trip. It also includes all the services of the first three levels.

What is included in MotorEasy breakdown cover as standard?

All levels of cover taken out through Motoreasy breakdown cover include key recovery, driver illness cover, roadside assistance, overnight accommodation where necessary and alternative transport.

How quickly will MotorEasy roadside assistance get to me when I break down?

MotorEasy says it aims to get to customers within 40 minutes of them calling. However, it may take longer if you are in another European country.

Will the cost of the repairs be included?

Getting you back on the road at the roadside is included, but if MotorEasy needs to recover your car to a garage, the cost then passes to you. MotorEasy also provides car warranties and with a warranty in place the work at the garage could be covered.

Is MotorEasy breakdown cover for the car or the driver?

MotorEasy breakdown cover includes the registered vehicle only, not the driver. This means the car is covered regardless of who is driving at the time of a breakdown.

Will MotorEasy cover any vehicle?

No, there are exclusions, including cars over a certain weight, or age and those used for certain purposes. It’s important to take the time to read your policy documents when taking out breakdown cover to ensure it is right for your needs.

Can I cover a second car on the policy?

Yes, you can add a second vehicle to your MotorEasy breakdown policy through the website. You will have to pay extra for this service.

How likely is it that MotorEasy will be able to repair my car at the roadside?

MotorEasy says it gets around 80 per cent of cars back on the road through its roadside repair service, with the remainder taken to a garage for more work. The company works with a network of over 600 recovery operators.
