Protect4Sure is an online car warranty provider. It is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is accredited by The Motor Ombudsman. It is also protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Its policies are underwritten by Red Sands Insurance Company.

Protect4Sure gives you a choice of car warranty policies, depending on how much cover you want for your car. It will cover the cost of repairing specified mechanical and electrical faults with your vehicle. Warranties can last between one and three years.

Like other car warranties, Protect4Sure won’t cover any parts of the car that get used regularly and will need to be routinely replaced, such as brake pads, clutch facings, windscreen wipers, batteries, and bulbs. Pre-existing faults that your car had before you took out the warranty also won’t be covered.

However, you will need to get it serviced at a VAT-registered garage within a set number of days after taking out a policy and you will need to continue to comply with your manufacturer’s service requirements during the term of your warranty to make sure the policy is valid.

Protect4Sure has a network of approved garages where you can get repairs, but you don’t need to use one of these. You can use any VAT-registered garage and your claim will still be valid.

If you decide to get your car repaired at a garage of your choice, Protect4Sure will only cover the cost of the national labour rate.

No, Protect4Sure will aim to pay the garage directly for any repairs. This will be easiest if you use one of their approved repairers, although it may still be possible if you use a repairer of your choice. Wherever you go for repairs, you will need to pay for anything that isn’t covered by your warranty.
