Warrantywise Car Warranty FAQ

Who is Warrantywise?

Warrantywise offers car warranties to drivers who want extra protection against the cost of car repairs. The brand is fronted by former Top Gear presenter Quentin Willson and is based in Lancashire.

What is a car warranty?

Car warranties are usually insurance-underwritten policies that help to cover the cost of repairs that are necessary to enable you to maintain a roadworthy car. You will often have a manufacturer’s warranty on a new car, which will usually expire after a few years. In advance of this, or even after it has expired, many drivers purchase car warranties from providers such as Warrantywise.

In addition, if you are driving an older car, or have just purchased a used car, you may want to consider buying a used car warranty to help protect you should your car need repairs carried out in the future. Obviously, if you feel you can afford to meet the costs of repairs as and when they arise, you may feel that a car warranty is not necessary.

Does Warrantywise offer different levels of car warranty cover?

Yes, there are five levels of cover available to those wishing to purchase Warrantywise car warranty products. Each is suitable to cars of different ages and with different mileage, so check carefully before you decide which level might be right for you. The levels are called 04/40, 06/60, 08/80, 10/100 and 12/120, reflecting the recommended age and mileage (08/80 is suggested for cars that are 8 years old and have up to 80,000 miles on the clock, for example.)

Each of these levels cover different parts as standard. The most basic level of cover, the 12/120 cover, only includes the following: engine, gearbox and transmission, clutch, drivetrain and differential. It’s a good idea to contact a car warranty provider directly to establish the details of what is covered in a certain policy before making a decision.

Will I need to have my car serviced in order to take out a car warranty?

Yes, Warrantywise and many other car warranty providers require drivers to pay for regular car servicing in order for the policy to continue to apply.

Can I spread the cost of my Warrantywise car warranty?

Yes, you can pay for your car warranty upfront in a single one-off payment, or in monthly instalments.

Can I renew my manufacturer’s warranty through Warrantywise?

Yes, Warrantywise provides warranty extensions for those whose manufacturer’s warranty is about to expire or has already expired. Interested drivers can contact Warrantywise by phone or can get a quote online.

Can I use any garage for the repairs?

Warrantywise works with a number of approved garages and states that it prefers these garages are used for repairs. However, customers are also able to use their preferred garage if they wish. However, the garage will have to agree to follow Warrantywise’s Repairs Procedure, which is sets out in its Plan Schedule. The garage must also be VAT registered.
